Unlike the other two, Terminal C is incredible. Definitely the best airport terminal I've ever experienced. Everything is in brand new, top-notch condition and a ton of great restaurants and shops and each table has its own iPad for the customer to use. It reminds me of Epcot with the variety of cultural restaurants. Also very easy to find an outlet for charging. This is the type of terminal I really wouldn't mind being stuck for a delayed flight or layover (I would actually enjoy it!)
My husband and I recently experienced our first plane trip. We flew from Newark to Arizona.
So even though Terminals A and B are horrendous one stars, Terminal C is extravagant enough to bring the overall airport rating to 4 stars... Just do all you can to avoid A and B.
Although I do understand this airport plays an important role in international transfers and it does the job, it is not very convenient, neither it is clean, organized or user friendly. I would compare this place with an enormous maze where the staff is not very helpful in finding the exit. You do not want this when you are in a tight schedule. Despite the design of the airport, i’d recommend for management to take note in training the staff for helping travelers.
I need to report this Hispanic woman who names Wendy and works at the gate of terminal C. We were standing at a line with no sign and she came along and gave everyone an ugly look and asked everyone to get to another line without explanation and with terrible attitude. She thinks she is somebody and treated everyone like her dog. I can’t believe the airport would hire someone who has this kind of terrible personality. Does anyone know where else I can report her? 2 Stars because everyone else was nice except this Wendy. And she for sure ruined our vacation mood.
I believe in giving credit where credit is due.
When I booked our flights, I posted that I required special assistance as I am a hefty woman and have a disability. I have never been met with such kindness! We no more than walked into the airport that we were met immediately by an attendant with a wheelchair for me. He took us through the preliminary channels straight to our boarding gate. When we were ready to board, I was wheeled right to the plane entrance and I was the first to board. No, this was NOT a fluke! When we returned from our trip, I was given the same kindness and assistance as I got when we arrived for our trip out. I literally didn't put my feet on the floor until I was ready to walk into the plane.
I flew three times from Newark. It was always a good experience. For my last flight I missed signs for check in and bag drop for my airline. I had to ask where to go and I think at an airport everything should be obvious. Some parts of the airport are pretty old fashioned wheat was others are new. Due to police presence I always felt safe. Plan enough time!!
Thank you to everyone at Newark Airport and to our attendants. You were ALL wonderful and I appreciate your assistance and kindness.
The shops and restaurants quality/selection in Terminal A and B are absolutely terrible after security and open outlets are almost non-existent. Before security, it's a different story with many more and better places to choose from (but not sure what the point is if most will be waiting after security?).
