It took me FOREVER to get someone to answer the phone. I called different times on different days and during different weeks!!! A total waste of time! I go tomorrow to take care of my paperwork. I'll review again afterwards.
Like others have said, calling is nearly useless. I have to say that the system now is better then before where it was first come, first served. That usually led to hours of waiting, and big lines before opening. Now you book an appointment. Last time I had an appointment at 9:30am, was finally seen about 1 hour later. LIke others said, no email confirmation for appointments, so I emailed them asking to confirm the time, since I had forgotten. Took them days to respond, but did get a response the day before the appointment. In my experience, once you are seen, the service is actually fast. All in all, I'm happy with service, and again, it's much better than years back.
I changed to two stars because once I walked through the doors, service was incredible- timely, organized, quick. Too bad the initial process was so difficult.
Everyone who works here has been really helpful, polite, responsive, and accommodating to me, and that's not the experience I've had at most agencies run by any government around the world. There were no appointments available, and yet they accommodated me by making my visa happen in 2 working days, 5 days before my trip. E-mail appears to be their preferred method of contact.
Submitted my application here for a Schengen visa. Some of the friendliest people I have met at any consulate-and believe me-I've seen many. The visa officer (I think her name was Sila) was thorough but efficient. And very pleasant throughout the process. Got my passport back well in time and with a visa stamp for the perfect duration. Amazing!!
Like others said no one answers the phone, emails are pretty much useless as well. Be prepared to wait multiple hours for any and everything. I waited nearly 6 hours over two visits. They need to hire 4-5 more people to improve efficiency.
