Be reasdy to have access to all of down town Manhattan. Being attached to the Newark Penn Station is the best thing about this hotel! The surrounding area is sketch but hit that train and get out of dodge and into something fun over in Manhattan!
Have to pay extra to park there. Parking is not included with reservation. I reserved a room with two beds through Expedia so not sure if Expedia or Hilton's fault but the room I was given had only one and they didn't have a two bed available. They did offer a roll away bed. The room had a strange smell that wasn't bad or good just odd. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Check out on website stated 11am but desk said 12pm. Staff was friendly and helpful within their means. Room had decent view from tenth floor.
I can't see how this is a 4 star hotel. It is run down, the area seems terrible, and the restaurant is adequate (at best). Hilton has a lot of nerve with some of these properties. I am a diamond member and I am thinking that it might be time to look at Marriott or Hyatt. It used to be a safe bet that a Hilton would be nice. Now it is hit or miss.
This hotel is directly across the street from Penn station which is very convenient. The room is spacious and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Be aware that there is no service in the executive lounge on the weekends which we were expecting for Sunday evening.
The entire staff was wonderful. The room was cozy and the bed very comfortable. Great location for access to downtown and the train station. Tip- if coming in by air make sure to get on the right shuttle- there's a Hilton shuttle to the airport Hilton as well.
