I was turned down after being dropped off over at the Advantage rental agency and sullenly made it over to Budget. Marlon greeted me kindly, found a car that would fit my needs and gave me a great discount on the vehicle (must have seen my day wasn't going so hot).
Budget sucks, never again! The people were nice but that doesn't excuse the very long wait.
My reserved pickup time is 1:30 pm, actual pick up time was 4:30pm. Line wasn't that long but line wasn't moving. There were only 2 people at the counter. My original reservation was for 6pm but my client ask me to get to her by 4pm and she agree to pay the difference. But because I was able to pick up at 4:30p, not only she will not pay for the difference but I lost $200 job all together. Top of that, when I finally got my car, someone else was already assigned to that same car by 2 minutes ahead of me. Therefore another 10 minutes of waiting for me. Woman behind counter was extremely rude also. One man complained about slow processing. She didn't even apologized, she just said they're short staffed...
Fabulous if you love waiting in a line for an hour! Only 2 people working behind the counter with 10+ people in line!
Everything was great expect the staff who met us at the car on the return drop off. Great value for a Ford Explorer, all other staff were friendly and quick. No nonsense.
Marlon was the man.
While the vehicle wasn't what I expected, it fit the needs of my passengers and made the trip I needed to take. Next time I'll skip the potentially cheaper options and go right for budget.
They also would not accept a CCAR form and copy of my card and my driver's license to help him out. I'm honestly not sure how they have been in business this long, and with business policies like that, they deserve to have worse than a scathing review.
I would give them less than 1 star, but that's not possible.
My boyfriend had a Google wallet version of his credit card with his name on it and they would not accept it.
He had to fly into the airport last minute from Jacksonville to Newark and needed a car to make it to his grandmother's funeral in Cape May, NJ.
I guess an unexpected funeral doesn't matter to Budget's business, and I hope they get buried six feet under and forgotten.
Give that man a raise, he was kind, funny, friendly, and happy to help.
