One staff told me one thing but, when dealing with another staff they advised me that they couldn't do that, or the other staff had instructed me incorrectly.
I've never been so disappointed or frustrated with a car rental company in my life.
Hopefully my horrible experience was only limited to me, and no one else had to endure this company's horrible customer service!
Hertz should have refused my money when it was originally tendered, and saved everyone a lot of hassle. If you are planning a trip through Newark, think twice about giving them money.
Hertz took my money at their website, then waited until we had arrived to refuse service based on a credit check. Initial employee was helpful the whole way through, although not well informed about policies for neighboring rental places (he tried to send us to Avis, same policy). His assistant quickly took my frustration personally, and their manager (when he finally showed up, after half an hour of me asking) was instantly accusatory and aggressive in response.
I rented a car from them last week. I'd give them 0 stars but not an option. I left my wallet in the car for 5 minutes upon returning the vehicle and it vanished before I'd even stepped off their parking lot. Spoke to a manager that let me go look in the car and when I couldn't find it he gave me the impression "It's not my problem". Would never rent from Hertz again they obviously have a very poor vetting process of their employees. When employees are not held responsible for committing theft of customers personal belongings that is no longer a business I will give my money to. Hopefully the Hertz management team will read this and they will address that stealing is a crime and probably not a good business decision to retaining customers.
I strongly do not recommend HertZ!
To further explain, I had a hard time while renting a vehicle even though I already pre paid for the rental.

Excellent vehicle and experience. Because we had our little one they drove us to the curb instead of us having to take the Air Train
With that being said I ended up missing my flight because of this issue.
